About Us – The Queenstown Foodie Bloggers
Hello again and welcome to our blog, fellow foodies! We are delighted to show you our online brainchild and to show you around. You’ve probably already read our first post, the welcome post, so you know what this blog will be about, but we wanted to take the time to tell you more about the content you’re going to see here.
We also wanted to tell you about how we came up with the idea for the blog and give you some more information about us, so we don’t feel like total strangers to you but like buddies who recommend cool places to visit on your vacation.
Who Are These Kiwi Foodie Bloggers
To begin with, yes, we are Kiwis through and through. We don’t, however, come from Queenstown; we are both Auckland born and bred. Still, we think of Queenstown as our second home, because we both love snowboarding and that’s the place to be if you’re into winter sports.
In fact, that’s how we met, at Winter Pride, about 15 years ago. We are now married and we even have a couple of wee ones with whom we share our love for snowboarding and Queenstown. We have been going there almost every single year since we met and we are still discovering new things about it, which is nothing short of amazing.
Queenstown is our paradise on Earth, combining all the things we seek from a holiday – great food and drinks, tons of activities for people of all ages, and nature that comes straight from the Garden of Eden.
Why We Made This Blog
We wanted to share our paradise with you, internet stranger, so we decided to dedicate a whole blog about Queenstown. You might ask yourself now, but isn’t the blog about restaurants and bars?
Yes, it is, because we felt like the tourist attractions are very well-known, as they are in most tourist towns around the world, but the good places to eat or drink are not so easy to pinpoint when you first go to a new town.
That’s exactly what we experienced when we first went there, especially because we were sort of shy to ask locals. Back when we first went there, food blogging wasn’t really a thing, so we had to try different things ourselves. This isn’t a bad idea, exploration is always fun, but you sometimes seek something specific or something unique and blogs can take you straight to that place.
That’s why we wanted to start this blog and show you our favourite restaurants and bars, along with some very unique venues serving food and drinks that are out-of-the-box, so you can go back home with memorable experiences.
Each article on our blog will be dedicated to a group of restaurants or bars with an overlying theme. Queenstown is very popular for its food and drink culture, which is yet another reason why people love it, so it’s only natural for us to show you around the It-places in town.
Thank You
